L.L. Bean的评论
I wore $90 LL Bean Boots 10-12 times in 7 or 8 years and just putting them they split a main seam. (see Photo #1) no wear on soles and clear LL Bean logo (see Photo #2) and my wife's fell apart years ago too. Customer service is as crappy as the Boots when they tell you there is no remedy, you just have to eat it. They ended "lifetime warranty" during these years and I now I know why. Crappy products, crappy customer service, buyer BEWARE!I have been wearing primarily LL bean for decades, shirts, jeans, boots, coats, fleece vests etc. In the last few years they have changed their color pallet to remove any bright colors from the hurricane cloth shirts, chamois shirts and polos, replacing interesting colors like salmon, red, yellow and tan with drab dull colors and plaid. None of the clothes I used to buy are available in a color I want to wear. They also gutted their guarantee.I always bought LLBean! When the old man ran his business he cared ab it.He's now passed on&whomever took over wants the money but doesn't want to give us the quality. The foot wear is being made *******@the world now&is being cheaply made. Bought a pair of slippers wore them twice&the bottom fell out. Made in China! I was willing to pay more for their footwear bc it was good quality that lasted, no more! Ive tried 5times&Thats the last of them getting my money! Oh&no 1/2 sizes now! If I wanted junk footwear I can go to Walmart ty.They do not tell you that they refuse to repair canvas upper bean Main Hunting Boots at purchase. Defective stitching all around. I even offered to pay. I have been wearing bean boots since I was 5 years old ( photo evidence) I am now 62. Product and service have gone to H E L L. Might as well go to Walmart these days, as The Bean Family has sold out old customers! Bean will be just like Sears and JC Penny... bankrupt and despised by all.I am so disappointed. Last November, I bought my husband the $80 slippers. They ripped in less than a year. We drove the hour and a half to the L. L. Bean store to exchange them and we were told rips and tears are not included in the warranty. Isn't that the point of a warranty? I could have bought cheap Walmart ones that would last just as long.I have just spent an HOUR+ on the phone with at least 6 reps from LLBean and their associated Mastercard, trying to make a purchase with my new approved card. NO ONE knows how to do their job. I kept getting sent to a different person, only to finally be hung up on with no purchase made. Guess what? I'm going to take that as a sign that THEY SUCK and don't deserve my hard-earned money.I recently bought two T shirts at L. L. Bean. I'd never shopped there bit it was aunt's favorite store. Quality must have gone downhill! I carefully washed my T shirt in cold water and put in on a drying rack. Imagine my disappointment when it had completely lost its shape. I paid a lot more than usual hoping to get a good quality item that would last a long time. What a waste of money! For the past 50 years or so I've worn LL Bean shirts and pants. I appreciated that I could get sizing to fit me, and having an unquestioned warrantee sealed the deal. Then LL started making everything in Cheapo, and they had to change their returns policies. Recently, three of my barely-used LL Bean shirts failed, the fabric ripping into holes. And the new return policies made getting a refund or replacement a pain in the posterior. I simply decided that LL Bean was no longer trustworthy.I don't know who love the bean boots more this old girl or her mom! This is my dog's go to spot in the garage!Worse customer service ever! 5 sweaters worth about $400 arrived in a box that was completely falling apart. I printed out their return label, took it to UPS and it was returned to me. At this point it was barely a box. I called LLBean and asked for help: 1) they advised me to drive about 45 minutes retun them 2) said it was somehow my fault that the box was returned; and 3) told me to PUT THE SWEATERS IN A GARBAGE BAG. Terrible serivce and mediocre quality. Will never shop there again..Received flannel shirt as gift. Had to return, wrong size. Called store (60 miles away). Voicemail stated open at 10:00 am. Drove there, door locked. Called store later, after opening. No apology or help. Call 800 customer service. Can't return unless I know specific name of person who purchased, I was incorrect on name of gift buyer. What a rigamarole. I yelled at the agent for her poor service and the store, again no apology. Told her I'd gift the shirt to a homeless shelter instead. We ordered house shoes understanding the would arrive after Christmas. Called 2-3 times and LLBean said they were back ordered. Called AGAIN today (2. 1. 2021) asking when they were to be shipped and LLBean said they cancelled our order! We were never told. NOT ACCEPTABLE LLBean. Why would we ever order from you again?I had purchased a number of items from LL Bean and was generally satisfied. However I had recently purchased an expensive pair of slippers that were absolutely subpar. My review was taken down because it "violated their rules". No specifics were given about what "rule" was violated and I did not see any that it could possibly violate other than painting their product is a poor light. I asked them to remove me from all their mailing lists and to their credit they did. Good riddance. If you can't handle honest criticism and reviews of your products than I won't be giving you my business.I have been ordering through LLBean catalogs for years and when digital became more popular I switched to ordering directly from their website. I would recommend it. While I could more than likely purchase their items from a local vender in my area I'd rather just buy it from them and get what I want. With the stores almost always being out of my size I just go online now. I've never had an issue with returns, orders or customer service.
When I buy jackets locally I don't like that I have to buy my winter parkas in Sep/Oct, my spring jackets in Dec/Jan and my summer clothing in Feb/Mar. I just go online now when I need jackets. I can't always wait until the season they have what I need in stock. Clothing wears out and only lasts 2-4 years before needing replacement. I'm active so I try to replace them every couple of years or they get stinky. Washing doesn't even remove it all. I have found LLBean's prices to be average if you buy it locally or online. Returns are easy and you can generally just drop it off at a shipping center.I ordered clothing in early November as holiday gifts for my sons. In mid-December, a full month later, I was told that the box had not cleared customs and would be sent back to Maine. My money was refunded but LLBean did not offer to resend the items to me. No explanation was given as to why a box of clothing was rejected at customs and no real apology. Very disappointed in LLBean. They lied to me about an order for 13 weeks and i never got the order which was supposed to take 3 weeks. They lied over and over. One of the people would yell at me like i am the one doing wroing. Then i cancelled the order, which was for my daughter. And then they still took the money from my card and i had to threaten litigation over and over. Horrible just horrible. Never will me or many many people i know order from this company againVery nice and amazing collections of bags, home goods and many more. Wide range of high quality clothing, footwear for both men and women available at very reasonable cost. Bought the classy shirts at discounted price. Looks so cool and trendy. Fast shipping service.Bought a fleece for my grandson here and it was too big. He tried it on (said "uck" because he thought it was ugly) sent it back in its original wrapping - and they sent me a gift card even though I wanted a refund. Then they argued with me about their return policy. I will never, ever buy anything from these thieves ever again.Their customer service is awful so I am assuming the brand overall has tanked. After spending 45 minutes (no exaggeration) on the phone with LL Beans customer service team I ultimately decided to not place the order with them. They were unable to offer me free expedited shipping after the hassle their system created after signing me out and not allowing me use the discount code for signing up for the MasterCard and getting approved. I plan to just close my LL bean credit card and never order with them.LL Bean does seem to cater to small women. If they do offer larger sizes, they are usually out and they dont' often come in the same color choices. Also, if you return something you paid for with Paypal they only offer store credit or a check that takes 7-10 days to get to you, which is dark ages stuff. I have only ever run into the with them. Stuck in the dark ages it seems all the way around. The outer layer came off one wheel of my L. L. Bean Rolling Adventure Duffle, and the wheel on the other side is cracking. Customer Service says L. L. Bean does not repair these bags nor does it have replacement wheels. The company recommends I take the duffel to a luggage shop. I expect a company with such a venerable reputation to stand behind the products it sells. I am disappointed with both the durability of the Rolling Adventure Duffle and with L. L. Bean's response.I travel nearly 100 miles to go to the one L. L. Bean store in British Columbia. On the website they advertise plus size clothing and anybody who is plus size knows that's a hard thing to find in BC. When I got there I couldn't find any plus size clothes so I talk to the owner and guess what L. L. Bean never sent any plus size clothes to the store so don't waste your time going there. They're just like target and all the other American stores, we're getting a watered down version.I wrote a 5-star product review for their website and submitted it thusly:
"I was lucky to find two pairs of these on a different website that sells used items. It's love. I wanted to comment on the complaints that the pants don't go up high enough in the waist. Very true. For me, they come up the perfect height in front but are an inch or two too low in the back, so when I sit, I feel like I'm showing some... ahem... Well, let's just say they don't come up far enough in the back when I'm seated. (I don't notice an issue while standing.) It's not likely to bother me because I always wear a top that goes down several inches below the top line of my pants. So these pants may or may not work for you, but it can't hurt to try them out! I don't feel that my fat tummy is hanging over the elastic in front. I was worried about that, but the pants do come up high enough to prevent that (for me, anyway). The quality is nice and I like the snapped pockets. (I'm a huge snaps fanatic.) And oh, by the way, I wear petite because even though I'm 5'8" tall, I have a long torso and short legs. The petite Large fits me perfectly. I'm excited to wear these come autumn! I wish they had a bit more flare in the ankles/calves, but it's not a huge issue."
And I got an email from them saying:
"Please give your review another try. Unfortunately, your feedback does not meet our guidelines.

And I'm like, what the freak did I do wrong?! I didn't break any of those rules. Did I? I'm offended.
That's the basis of giving them three stars, but it's one star for their rejecting my review, averaged out by a five-star rating on their wonderful clothing. Hmmph.Very satisfied with the merchandise however the payment for those of us in Canada is very problematic. LLBean site keeps invalidating the purchase. The Credit Card company says the issue is at its end. The problem has existed for over 6 months or moreI have LL Bean dress shirts over 30 years old and they are now threadbare - finally. But the one's I've bought in the past 4 years last about two years before the material starts to tear on the sleeves and show serious wear spots on the collar. What gives? When I called about the first one it happened to, they said it is a one year warranty. So, they are a one year disposable dress shirt now?
